Learn to practice breathing more deeply from the abdomen
Exercise 1 - Sit or lie in a warm comfortable place and close your eyes.
Try counting down slowly in your mind from 20 to 1, visualizing each
number in turn. If you find this easy, then try the same exercise from
50 to 1, If this was ok then try from 100 and so on.
Exercise 2
Visualize in your mind the number 5. Take a deep breath in filling the abdomen and then breathe out emptying the abdomen.
Visualize in your mind the number 4. Take a deep breath in filling the
abdomen and as you breath out emptying the abdomen, say to yourself
“I am more relaxed now than I was at number 5”.
Visualize in your mind the number 3. Take a deep breath in filling the
abdomen and as you breath out emptying the abdomen, say to yourself
“I am more relaxed now than I was at number 4”.
Visualize in your mind the number 2. Take a deep breath in filling the
abdomen and as you breath out emptying the abdomen, say to yourself
“I am more relaxed now than I was at number 3”.
Visualize in your mind the number 1. Take a deep breath in filling the
abdomen and as you breath out emptying the abdomen, say to yourself
“I am more relaxed now than I was at number 2 and feeling very calm and relaxed”.
Try to practice relaxation exercises Daily
The more you practice the easier and more natural they become.
